Hidden Dog Fence, Electric Dog Fence, Hidden Pet Fence, Underground Containment System. No matter what you call it a containment “system” for your dog can be worth its weight in gold and peace of mind.
Like most folks, long ago I used to open the door in the morning so my dogs could relive themselves, get a bit of exercise and do the ‘dog thing’ outside. I would constantly be going to the window to be sure that I could still see my dogs and they hadn’t decided to explore the neighborhood. It was a constant stress wondering where they were. Did they just go around the corner of the house to a blind spot I couldn’t see them? Did they lay down close to the house? Did they decide to go exploring after some smell they caught a whiff of, or did they see something that caught their eye and decide to go exploring on their own?
Thankfully these days there is a solution that is easy, cost effective and pretty darn quick that can keep your dog safely contained in your yard.
The Electric Dog Fence is not the only solution to keeping a dog contained in the yard. You can put him on a tie-out, put up a kennel type structure or have a physical fence installed in your yard. With the exception of the physical fence the other options don’t allow the dog to ‘be a dog’ and romp, roam and explore within his bounds. Also, a dog that’s tied up or on a runner is much more likely to bark and dig.
A physical fence can be a workable solution for dog containment, However, if you have gates and children… well.. you’ll have to make sure the gates are locked shut or the kids don’t have access to the gates. All it takes is one slightly open gate and the gateway to the outside world is now free for the dog. Secondly, I can’t recall the number of Electric Dog Fences we have installed for folks shelling out big bucks of physical fences only to have their dogs find -dig, jump, crawl over- a way out. Dogs are resourceful! They don’t have to worry about the taxes, what to wear the next presidential election or even how to hunt down their next meal. We provide for them. Dogs have lots of free time to explore and find a way ‘out’.
The Electric Dog Fence is a fantastically successful solution for most dogs. Giving dogs and pet owners what they want; Freedom with safe boundaries for the dog and the ability to exercise, and Peace of mind and knowing exactly where the dog will be when they’re outside.
